Direwolf Progress Report 2
👋 Introduction
This report will cover the progress we have made from 07/01/2021 to 07/26/2021.
The past two weeks have been very busy for the team and core community members. It is tough to say what was more exciting, all the cute Wolf pictures from the Direwolf — Axion fundraiser visit to the Southern Ohio Wolf Sanctuary or the big reveal of the partnership with Phat Loot Studio’s and their first production Untamed Isles (the first play to earn game that will be utilizing the Direworld NFT platform). Untamed Isles also revealed that they are “tied to the hip” with Direwolf because ALL of Phat Loot Studio’s games will require Direwolf to buy and sell in-game assets through the Direworld marketplace. This update will cover a high-level overview of the last two weeks and then we will publish more in-depth articles focusing on the specifics about both the Wolf Sanctuary visit and the exciting announcement about the Untamed Isles partnership.

Southern Ohio Wolf Sanctuary Donation
Representatives from Direwolf and Axion visited Chesapeake, Ohio to deliver a $20,000 donation for the Southern Ohio Wolf Sanctuary which rescues Wolves and helps them find “forever homes” along with other functions to do its part in ensuring that these beautiful creatures remain a part of our planet for many years to come. A big thank you to both teams for traveling from all different parts of the United States to deliver the check and show them our support. The money was raised through both communities working together to buy market discounted Direwolf tokens from which all of the proceeds were donated to the Sanctuary. Phat Loot Studios Partnership
In a recent AMA, CEO Joshua Grant of Phat Loot studios, which is producing Untamed Isles, revealed that both projects were “tied to the hip” with Direwolf. It was revealed that all the Phat Loot Studios productions would utilize the Direworld Cross Game NFT platform as well as Direwolf token as their common in-game currency. Josh explained his vision was to have some items within their Untamed Isles game to be capable of future cross-game use across different game titles. This means that items earned or purchased in one game could cross over into a completely different game. The power behind the Direworld Cross Game NFT Marketplace is to nurture as many projects within our ecosystem to cooperate in not only using Direwolf as an in-game currency but also facilitate a single marketplace that allows the games to share items. Imagine if you were playing World of Warcraft and one of the items you earned could cross over into Pokemon Go? Neither of these projects is related to Direwolf or Phat Loot studios, but the example allows you to imagine the future of the Direworld cross-game NFT marketplace. All of your hard work in a single game will not be lost as the game fades in popularity over time.
Direworld NFT Platform
The Direworld platform is aimed at filling a void within the cryptocurrency non-fungible token (NFT) gaming space. While there are many marketplaces like Opensea, Immutable X from Gods Unchained, or Ronin chain from Axie Infinity, they are far too complicated for mass general adoption by the non-crypto world. Direworld’s initial focus on high-quality games which do not require a crypto wallet to begin playing will allow them to scale more rapidly compared to the competition. Players will be able to play most titles just like any other non-crypto game, and when they want to sell items or transfer them to other games, then they will have to learn to set up a crypto wallet. This vision allows Direworld to not only capture market share from within the crypto gaming space, but also from outside of it as well. Ultimately, Direworld is positioning itself as a bridge for mainstream gamers to enter the play-to-earn model in the crypto world.
As more partnerships are formed with video game developers which seek to enter the cryptocurrency space, the demand for Direwolf token will grow as it is utilized for all transactions within Direworld Cross Game NFT Marketplace. The possibilities are endless because there are many other industries where tokenization is becoming a huge disruptor. NFT’s are here to stay as the general population discovers this new part of the crypto world known as Non-Fungible Tokens.
The future is mass tokenization, and the Direworld platform is positioning itself perfectly for the future by establishing itself firmly within the NFT play-to-earn gaming world.
Direworld provides Direwolf with a real-world utility that will increase the long-term demand for the token by inserting itself as a transactional layer within the play-to-earn crypto gaming community which is rapidly expanding.
Lastly, Direworld is aiming to become chain independent, meaning that it will work not only on Ethereum but also on other chains in the future. By not betting on which chain will become the standard in the future, the project protects itself from betting on the wrong project.
Untamed Isles MMORPG — Play To Earn Crypto
Untamed Isles is a refreshing take for what many gamers have been asking the gaming studios for, but what has not really been delivered effectively thus far. A play-to-earn game that is not watered down that allows for a fully immersive experience like in the good ole days before game studios watered everything down for mass adoption. We can say this is a true homage to gameplay and skill in the MMORPG genre. Their project takes inspiration from the massive success of Axie Infinity which is arguably the most successful crypto play-to-earn game in history. The main differentiator here is that this project is about much higher-quality graphics and an immersive story to go with the game. In fact, there will be a book published setting up the lore for Untamed Isles before the game will be released for Beta testing! Another big differentiator is that Untamed Isles will allow players to just play the game. There is no requirement to have a crypto wallet or get involved in the crypto aspect. If the player would like to sell items they have earned or transfer the items to future games, then at that point they will be forced to utilize blockchain technology and crypto-wallets. Untamed Isles is like a triple threat in the gaming space due to no crypto wallet barrier for the non-crypto world, high-quality graphics, and immersive lore due to a book being published in advance setting the entire backdrop.
